DARE TO DREAM BIG
Make dream a reality!
Train your dog in a fun, positive way without adversive or intimidating methods. Build a great relationship to endure for the lifetime of your dog.
Bring your dog for a fantastic holiday in the Lake District National Park; close to spectacular fells, forests and dog-friendly beaches. Most pubs/cafes and tourist activities are dog-friendly. Choose either a comfortable apartment with lovely views in a quiet village or Glamping in a tipi on a beautiful, quiet campsite by the coast.
You can tailor your stay with a choice of training sessions from 2 hours to 20 hours. So you can make the training the main focus of your break or simply a part of a lovely trip to the Lakes.
There are plenty of lovely, dog friendly places to eat within walking distance including a great chippy for a fish and chip supper on the beach. I can give you plenty of advice for great walks and places to visit.
Nearby we have the narrow gauge steam railway (dogs just adore this) Muncaster Castle, plus Coniston water (dog friendly tours on the lake on the steam driven Gondola).
The displayed options for nightly stays enable the training to be given over successive days for maximum effect. If you prefer the training can be in one long session with short breaks to leave the rest of your stay free to plan your own activities. You can, of course, choose to book more sessions to suit. Stay in a Tipi:
Why not try a wonderful, relaxing holiday in a tipi? Fully equipped for a hassle free, comfortable and cosy glamping experience. Each Tipi has a wood burning stove installed which provides plenty of warmth during your stay. The setting is truly beautiful. Watch the sun set over spectacular coastal views.
This experience would include the unique option of specialist one to one training for you and your pooch. For more details of my approach please click the button below:
If you have tried other trainers and obedience classes to no lasting effect do not despair. This is an approach that will improve your relationship with your dog and give real life, long lasting results. It is an approach your dog would choose.
Consider the fun you can have with your dog/s when staying for a few days in a large 21foot Tipi. These are designed for up to 6 people but I would suggest up to 4 for more comfort.
Whilst we offer the dog training it is important that your dog is house trained and even better crate trained. They must not be left unsupervised in the tipi.
The tipis are situated at Harbour Lights Camp site in the South West Lake District on the coast so miles of sandy beaches and sand dunes. You will have awesome views of nearby fells and Black Combe, the Duddon Estuary and Hodbarrow Nature Reserve fresh water lagoon. Water sports can be booked on the lagoon.
Larger groups can be accommodated we have 2 21foot Tipis plus other tents/pods can be hired.
2-night stay for up to 4 people and 5 hours training: £350 – Bespoke times. Arrange via e-mail.
3-night stay for up to 4 people and 5 hours training: £480 – This is a weekend stay in one of our tipis, from Friday to Sunday.

Additional sessions for training your dog can be booked at £40 per hour.
Is the Tipi waterproof?
Yes. The canvas is waterproof they also have a rain catcher attached to the poles at the top of the Tipi if it should rain the rain flows down the poles then collects in the rain catcher and is drained off at the back of the lining. However, even in Summer night times can be cool and you should always bring a good sleeping bag and warm clothing.
Is it cold in the Tipi?
The structure of the Tipi and lining means that Tipis are as comfy and warm in winter and offer a cool shelter in the summer as possible. We also provide a wood burning stove. Providing the perfect Lake District camping experience. However even in Summer night times can be cool and you should always bring a good sleeping bag.
Is there a fire in the Tipi?
Yes, we provide a wood burning stove, lighting instructions, fire lighters, kindling, logs a poke, safety gloves, a fire extinguisher and a carbon monoxide detector.
Is it suitable for pets?
A large dog crate will be provided. Any dogs may not be left alone in the tipi unless they are in the crate. It is preferable the dog isn’t left unsupervised at all. No other pets are permitted. We allow a maximum of tow dogs which can share a crate. For special requests please contact Sonia@lakedistrictdogtraining.co.uk.
What do we need to bring?
Sleeping bags, pillows, towels, tea towels, clothes, and toiletries. It is sensible to bring clothing for all weather conditions whatever time of year you book your holiday. At least one good torch would be handy for any night-time trips to the loo. Any equipment you dog will need, including food, must be provided by yourselves. Maps of the area and insect repellent can be useful too.
What is the weather like?
The Lake District has some glorious weather. But it also rains and it can change between the two very quickly.
